Freedom & Justice
Freedom & Justice by Cecil J. Williams is the award winning civil rights documentary published in 1995 by Mercer University Press. With nearly 150 rare photos and accompanying text and captions, Williams recounts coming-of-age in 1950s-era Orangeburg, South Carolina. Meticulously researched, this first edition by Cecil Williams covers nearly all of South Carolina's early civil rights events from Briggs vs Elliott to the Charleston Hospital Workers Strike in 1969. Although out-of-print, a number of copies are available exclusively through cecilwilliamsphotography.com.
